Microsoft Teams
Last modified 11/15/2024
The Illinois State University Microsoft (Office) 365 suite provides the Teams app. Teams is a chat-centered workspace in Microsoft 365. Teams puts together people, conversations, files, and other tools so groups can collaborate on projects or assignments and everyone has instant access to everything they need.
New Teams Update
Beginning early April 2024, all remaining classic Teams users will be updated to new Teams and the toggle switch will be removed. If you are unable to update to new Teams, users will be allowed to remain on classic Teams until classic Teams is no longer officially available. For more information please see the following article: Switching from Old Microsoft (MS) Teams to New MS Teams
- Communication
Teams connects you with chat, calls, and meetings within your team and in private or small group conversations. Schedule and join online meetings with HD video, VoIP, and dial-in audio conferencing options. Share your files, apps or desktop in online meetings and review important moments later with transcriptions of recorded content.
- Integrated Microsoft 365 Apps
You have access to your documents and info in SharePoint, OneNote, PowerBI, and Planner. You can create and edit documents right in Teams and include related conversations. You can also search across people, files, and chats with intelligence from Microsoft Graph.
