Adding Money to Your Redbird Card or Guest Copy Card

To use certain pay services at Illinois State University, including pay printing (uPrint), you must have money on either your Redbird Card or a Guest Copy Card.
Redbird Card
Redbird Cards are issued to all students, faculty, and staff at Illinois State University. If you don’t have one already, you may obtain a Redbird Card by going to the Redbird Card Office on the first floor of the Bone Student Center.
Some locations, like restaurants in the Bone Student Center, accept the Redbird Card for payment. You can also use your Redbird Card for services like pay printing and copying.

Guest Copy Card
Anyone may purchase a Guest Copy Card. You can only use a Guest Copy Card for pay printing and copying at Milner Library. Cards can be purchased for $1 at the cash-to-card machine near the Circulation Desk.
Funds can be added to a Guest Copy Card at the cash-to-card machine near the Circulation Desk.

There are several ways to add money to your Redbird Card:
Using My.IllinoisState.edu
- Go to my.illinoisstate.edu/ and log in via Central Login.
a. For more information about Central Login at ISU, please refer to: Central Login - Click the Finances tab.
- There are two ways to access your Redbird Card:
a. Click the Redbird Card button or,
b. Scroll down to the Redbird Card section and click on Add Money to Card. - In the Add Money to Card section, add money by electronic check or credit/debit card. To add money via electronic check, go to step #5. To add money via credit/debit card, go to step #6.
- By electronic check:
Enter the amount of the electronic check in the Electronic Check Amount field.
Click the Verify Transaction button
Then, click the Add by Electronic Check button.
The Secure Payment Gateway will open. Enter the required information on this page.
Click the Continue button at the bottom of the screen to continue the process of adding your electronic check. - By credit/debit card:
Enter the amount to deposit from your credit/debit card in the Credit/Debit Amount field.
Click the Verify Transaction button
Then, click the Add by Credit/Debit button.
The Secure Payment Gateway will open. Enter the required information on this page.
Payment methods accepted are: American Express, Discover, DinaCard, BCcard, Mastercard, and Visa
Click the Continue button at the bottom of the screen to continue the process of adding money from your credit/debit card.
Using a Cash-to-Card Machine
Use one of the University’s Cash-to-Card machines to add money to your card.
The cash to card machines accept $1, $2, $5, $10, and $20 bills and are located at:
- Cardinal Court Lounge
- College of Business Computer Lab, Room 22
- Linkins Basement
- Milner Library, 2nd floor
- Vrooman Center
- Watterson Lobby
- Insert the Redbird card into the reader (black stripe facing down on the right side). Then, remove your Redbird card (the machine will display a message on when to remove your card).
Your card balance will display and flashing blue lights will appear at the money slot. - Insert cash face-up in the money slot.
- Press the "D" button when finished adding money.
- Press the "C" button for a receipt.
In Person
Use cash or a check to add money to your card at the Redbird Card Office or Cashier's Office.
By Mail
Send a check in the mail to deposit money onto your card. The mailing address is:

Flex Dollars
NOTE: You cannot add Flex Dollars to your account, only Redbird dollars. Flex dollars are given each semester based on your meal plan. Redbird dollars can be used like Flex Dollars, but are more versatile in application. This includes uPrint.
