Combining Faxes in RightFax

You can combine two or more faxes in RightFax, which will send both faxes in a single fax.

Before You Begin

You must have access to RightFax before you can combine faxes. For more information, see RightFax.

Combining a Fax Using the Web Client

Important

When using the web client to combine faxes, you cannot send the faxes to an email address. The combined fax must be sent to an actual fax number.


To combine two or more faxes into a single fax, do the following:

  1. Open an internet browser and navigate to fax.illinoisstate.edu.
  2. Log in to fax.illinoisstate.edu via Central Login.

  3. When you are prompted to log in again, click the box labeled, "Use NT Authentication?".
  4. Click Login.
  5. On the home page of the RightFax web client, click on the first fax you want to combine. If you have selected the fax, it will be highlighted blue.
  6. Press and hold CTRL on your keyboard.
  7. While pressing the CTRL key, click on the second fax you want to combine.
  8. Repeat steps 2-3 until you have selected all of the faxes you want to combine.
  9. Right-click on one of the faxes you have selected.
  10. Click Combine.
  11. If you want to re-order the faxes, click the up and down blue arrows.
  12. If you want to select specific pages, click the Start and End boxes and type in the page number.
  13. Click OK.
  14. The fax will appear in your fax list. Double-click on the combined fax.
  15. Click on the recipient's name.
  16. Click Edit.
  17. Enter the Name and Fax number.
  18. Click Save.
  19. Click Send.

Your combined fax will be sent.

Combining Faxes in RightFax FaxUtil

Using the RightFax FaxUtil application, you can combine two or more faxes and send both faxes via a fax number or by email.

To combine two or more faxes into a single fax, do the following:

  1. Launch the FaxUtil application.
  2. Click on the first fax you want to combine. If you have selected the fax, it will be highlighted blue.
  3. Press and hold CTRL on your keyboard.
  4. While pressing the CTRL key, click on the second fax you want to combine.
  5. Repeat steps 2-3 until you have selected all of the faxes you want to combine.
  6. Click Combine.
  7. If you want to re-order the faxes, click the up and down blue arrows.
  8. Select All Pages or Page Range. If you choose Page Range, enter numbers in the From and To boxes.
  9. Click "Combine".
  10. In the Name field, enter the recipient's name. The original recipient of the faxes will be pre-populated.
  11. In the Fax Number field, enter the fax number.
    11a. If you want to send the fax to an email address, click the down arrow and select Email Address, then enter the recipient's email address.
  12. Click Cover Sheet Notes and enter a message to the recipient.
    12a. Because of the way notes are added to the cover sheet, text lines in this field do not wrap. Press Enter to move the cursor to the next line.
  13. Click Attachments.
  14. Click the paper clip symbol.
  15. Browse to the file you want to fax.
  16. Click Attach.
  17. Click Send.

Your combined fax will be sent.
