IVR Call Tree Set Up

To update the greeting for an IVR follow the steps below:

  1. Dial 8-6489 (U-NITY)
  2. When prompted, enter your personal extension number and press #.
  3. When prompted, enter your personal voicemail pin and press #.
  4. When prompted, enter the extension number of the IVR you are updating and press #.
  5. The IVR’s active prompt will begin to play.
  6. To toggle between the standard and alternate greeting, press 1.
  7. To change the standard greeting, press 2.
  8. To change the busy greeting, press 3.
  9. To change the closed greeting, press 4.
  10. To change the internal greeting, press 5.
  11. To change the alternate greeting, press 6.
  12. To change the holiday greeting, press 7.
  13. To exit without making changes, press 8. 


Important Notes

  • Only individuals that are granted permissions to the IVR greetings will have the ability to change them using this method. If you need the ability to update your department’s IVR, please contact ucsupport@ilstu.edu to have permissions granted.  
  • The button input menu (Press 1 to…, press 2 to…, etc.) cannot be changed by this method. You will still need to contact the UC Team at ucsupport@ilstu.edu if you would like the button input menu changed.
