How to display a mounted drive on the desktop in Mac OS X

You can choose to display mounted drives on your desktop in Mac OS X 10.7 (and higher).

Displaying Mounted Drives on Desktop in Mac

To display a mounted drive on your desktop in Mac OS X 10.7 (and higher), do the following:

  1. Click Finder
  2. Click Preferences
  3. Select the General tab
  4. Under Show these items on the desktop, add a check mark next to Connected Servers.
  5. Close the “Finder Preferences” window.

All mounted drives will now be displayed on your desktop.
