How to Assign and Approve Final Grades in Faculty Center

Faculty Center is part of Campus Solutions at Illinois State University. Faculty Center is the new “one-stop-shop” for many of the tools you use as an instructor. You may use Faculty Center to submit your final grades.

Final Grade Submission

Instructors may submit final grades in Faculty Center. Grades must first be assigned, then subsequently approved by the instructor.

Assign Final Grades

Instructors may enter final grades in Faculty Center. To do so:

  1. Navigate to and log in with your ULID and password.

  2. Select the Academics tab and click Courses I Teach - Faculty Center.

  3. Click the link located at the end of the phrase, “To view course information in your faculty center, log in here.”

  4. Log into Faculty Center with your ULID and password.

  5. In the Quick Links section, select the Faculty Resources tab.

  6. Click Faculty Center.

  7. Click on the grade roster icon Imagenext to the class you wish to grade.

    • Be sure to click Save often in order to save your progress as our work.

    • If you are inactive in the Faculty Center for 20 minutes, you will receive a pop up message asking if you want to continue your session. After 30 minutes of inactivity, the Faculty Center will log you out. Be especially careful about remaining inactive while entering grades.

  8. You may assign grades using several methods:

To import grades from ReggieNet:.

  1. Click the Import Grades button.

  2. Be sure to review the imported grades for accuracy.

    • To assign grades to students individually, or to change a student’s grade:
  3. Click Roster Grade next to the student, and select a grade from the drop down menu.

    • To assign the same grade to multiple students:
  4. Place a check next to the students to which you want to assign the same grade, or check Select All to select all students in the class.

  5. Click on the drop down menu located below the full list of students to select a grade.

  6. Click <-add this grade to selected students.

  7. Click Save.

When you have completed entering grades for the class, you may approve the grades in order to submit them (see section below entitled, “Approve Final Grades”).

Important: The system will not allow grade rosters to be approved with blank grades. Use the M (Missing) grade value for those students to which you cannot accurately assign a grade. Grade change forms will need to be submitted for any M grades which are not corrected by the grade submission deadline.

Approve Final Grades

Instructors submitting grades in Faculty Center must approve the grades after entering them in order to complete the grade submission process. To do so:

  1. If you are not already logged into Faculty Center, do so, following steps 1 - 7 above.

  2. To approve grades for your selected class, click Approval Status drop down menu, and select one of the following values:

    • Select Ready for Review if you have finished entering grades, and need the instructor of record to review and approve the grades.

    • Select Approved if you are the instructor of record, and are ready to approve the grades.

  3. Click Save.

You will receive a message once your changes have successfully saved.
