SendTo is a web-based application that allows students, faculty, and staff of Illinois State University to share files with others in a secure manner. SendTo may be used to share files with other members of the University or third parties.
Use SendTo to share files when:
- Files are too big to be sent as email attachments
- Files contain Restricted or Highly Restricted data
- You want to share files with someone outside of the university
Recipients will have 21 days to pick up the files you send them through SendTo.
File Size Limitations
SendTo itself has limits on the amount of data that can be uploaded in a single drop-off. Drop-offs may not exceed 50.0 GB per file, or 50.0 GB total for the entire drop-off.
A new feature has been enabled in SendTo which will allow each user to have their own “Filedrop” link. They can use this Filedrop link to receive files directly from anyone. Users can find their specific URL in their Account Settings under [Personal Filedrop]. This feature is useful for those users who have multiple email aliases to ensure they can access files that are sent to them. It can also be used for anonymous drop offs from external users.
