Microsoft 365 System Requirements

Before you can use Microsoft 365 and install the latest version of Microsoft Office, confirm that your desktop or laptop meets the minimum system requirements. Because Office 365 is a web-based application, there are also browser requirements for some features.
Browser Requirements
The minimum browser requirements are as follows:
- Windows Internet Explorer 11 or newer.
- Mozilla Firefox 12 or newer.
- Apple Safari 5 or newer.
- Google Chrome 18 or newer.
- Microsoft Edge.
Operating System Requirements for Windows
The minimum operating system requirements are as follows:
- Computer and Processor: 1.6 GHz or faster
- Memory: 4 GB RAM
- Hard Disk: 4 GB of available disk space
- Display: 1280 x 768 screen resolution
- Graphics: Graphics hardware acceleration requires a DirectX 9 or later, with WDDM 2.0 or higher for Windows 10 (or WDDM 1.3 or higher for Windows 10 Fall Creators Update).
- Operating System: Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows Server 2022, Windows Server 2019 or Windows Server 2016. Please note Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise will be supported on Windows Server 2022 through October 2026, and on Windows Server 2019 or Windows Server 2016 through October 2025.
Operating System Requirements for MacOS
The minimum operating system requirements for Mac are as follows:
- Computer and Processor: Intel Processor
- Memory: 4 GB RAM
- Hard Disk: 10 GB HFS+ hard disk format
- Display: 1280 x 800 screen resolution
- Graphics: No graphics requirements
- Operating System: Mac 10.13.6 or later
