Illinois State University students may use the Housing & Dining Application portal to apply for housing, search for a roommate, purchase a meal plan, and more.

Housing & Dining Applications

You may use the Housing & Dining Application portal to submit your housing and dining application.

Housing Options

Depending on your status as a student with Illinois State University, you can apply to live in one of the following:

  • Residence Hall
  • Cardinal Court
  • Shelbourne Family & Graduate Housing
  • University Apartments on Fell Avenue and School Street

Students who are required to live on campus can submit a Housing Exemption Request from within the housing application. Qualifying students may be granted an exemption to not live in the residence halls.

Students who are not required to live on campus may submit a Housing Request to live on campus from within the housing application.

Dining Options

Depending on your living situation, you can select from a variety of meal plans. Your meal plan entitles you to eat at any of the dining centers on campus. Each plan also includes a specific amount of flex dollars, which you may use at various retail dining venues on campus, such as McAlister’s Deli in the Bone Student Center.

  • Residence Halls: Students living in the residence halls are required to purchase a meal plan and must do so when they submit their application for housing within the Housing & Dining Application portal.
  • Other University Housing: Students living in the Cardinal Court apartments, Shelbourne Family and Graduate housing, and the University apartments at Fell Avenue/School Street have the option of purchasing a meal plan when they submit their application for housing within the Housing & Dining Application portal.
  • Non-University Housing: Students living in an apartment or house that is not affiliate with Illinois State also have the option of purchasing a meal plan.
